ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to help improve the treatment of shallow periodontal pockets in patients with periodontitis, a gum disease that can lead to tooth loss if not treated. PRF is a material derived from your own blood that contains growth factors, which are substances that help heal wounds and regenerate tissues. The goal of the study is to see if adding PRF to the standard treatment of scaling and root planing (a deep cleaning procedure for gums) can lead to better healing and improvement in gum health.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must have periodontitis and be between the ages of 18 and 70. However, people who have received any periodontal therapy in the last three months, have certain medical conditions like diabetes, wear dental prostheses, consume alcohol, or have specific dental issues will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to receive the standard treatment along with the PRF, and researchers will track your progress to see how effective this combined approach is for improving gum health. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into better treatments for gum disease.
