ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a treatment called transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can help adults with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) when used alongside cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). The researchers want to find out if active tDCS can lead to greater improvements in OCD symptoms compared to a placebo (sham stimulation), which is a treatment that doesn’t have any real effect. If you or someone you know is between the ages of 18 and 74, lives in Wisconsin, and is enrolled in an OCD Intensive Outpatient Program at Rogers Behavioral Health in Oconomowoc, WI, you might be eligible to participate.
Participants in this study will receive either active tDCS or the sham treatment before their CBT sessions. It's important to note that people with certain medical conditions, such as having metal implants in their body or those taking specific medications, won’t be able to join the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and those who take part will be helping researchers understand if combining tDCS with CBT can make a significant difference in treating OCD symptoms.
