ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating the use of a special substance called silk fibroin as a way to deliver medication to treat periodontal pockets, which are spaces that can form in the gums due to gum disease. Researchers want to see how well silk fibroin works compared to a common treatment called chlorhexidine. This trial is in the early phase, and they are not yet recruiting participants.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 30 and 50 years old and have mild to moderate gum disease, specifically localized periodontal pockets. It's important that participants are willing to take part in the study. However, people with certain health conditions, those who have had recent dental treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those who have taken antibiotics in the past six months won't be able to join. Participants will have the opportunity to help researchers learn more about new treatments for gum disease, which could improve care for many patients in the future.
