ClinConnect Summary

The BRAINonFIT Study is looking at how different exercise programs can help improve thinking and memory in women who have survived breast cancer. Specifically, the study compares a special training program that combines physical exercise with brain exercises to a regular exercise program. Researchers want to see how these programs affect not just thinking skills, but also physical abilities, emotional well-being, and certain health markers related to how the muscles and brain communicate.

To be part of this study, women need to have been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and completed their main treatments, like surgery and chemotherapy. They should also be able to exercise without any serious health problems. Participants will take part in a 20-week program that involves supervised workouts three times a week, along with weekly challenges to encourage healthy habits. Assessments will be made at the start of the study, after the 20 weeks, and again 12 weeks later to see how well the programs worked. This study aims to help improve the quality of life for breast cancer survivors by enhancing both their physical and mental health.
