ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring new ways to help people with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) who also experience stress and anxiety. Researchers are investigating whether gentle touch and warmth can stimulate certain nerves in the skin that may help to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress. During the trial, participants will be divided into two groups: one will receive the actual gentle touch and heat treatment, while the other group will receive a placebo (a treatment that doesn’t have any active effects). The study aims to find out the best methods for these treatments and see how they impact stress and anxiety levels.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to have a history of AUD within the past six months. People with unstable medical or psychological issues may not be suitable for this study. Participants can expect to undergo some stress tests while their anxiety levels and physical responses, like hormone levels, are measured. This trial is currently not recruiting participants, but it is designed to help improve treatment options for those struggling with AUD, stress, and anxiety in the future.
