ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of yoga on older adults with heart conditions. Researchers want to find out if practicing yoga can improve physical health—like balance, muscle strength, and heart function—as well as mental health by reducing feelings of depression and anxiety. Participants in the trial will be older than 65 years and will attend yoga classes twice a week for three months. They will complete surveys and physical assessments at the beginning and after three months to see if there are any improvements compared to those who do not participate in yoga.
To be eligible for the study, participants must have had a heart-related issue within the past year, like a heart attack or heart surgery, and should have completed a cardiac rehabilitation program in the last year. They also need to be able to read and understand English and live in Kentucky. However, individuals with certain serious health conditions, those who already practice yoga, or those without home internet access are not eligible. This study aims to see if yoga can help support both physical and mental well-being in older adults with cardiovascular issues.
