ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how virtual reality (VR) can help patients feel less pain and anxiety during colonoscopy procedures, which are important for detecting colorectal cancer early. Colorectal cancer is a significant health concern, especially in Puerto Rico, where people are less likely to get screened compared to those on the mainland United States. The trial will explore whether using VR can be an effective distraction to improve patients' experiences during these procedures, potentially reducing the need for stronger medications.
To participate in this study, individuals must be scheduled for a colonoscopy, be at least 21 years old, and be able to read and speak in Spanish. However, those with certain medical conditions, such as a history of seizures or balance disorders, may not be eligible. Participants will experience a colonoscopy while using VR to see if it helps ease their discomfort. This trial aims to find out how well VR works in a clinical setting and to help more people in Puerto Rico get the screenings they need.
