ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different methods for treating a condition called maxillary prognathism, which means that the upper jaw sticks out more than the lower jaw. The study will compare the effectiveness of a special device called a lingual retractor, which is placed behind the teeth, to clear aligners, which are clear plastic trays that help straighten teeth. The goal is to see which method works better for moving the teeth back into a more balanced position.
To participate in this trial, you would need to be an adult between the ages of 65 and 74 who has mild crowding of the teeth and a specific type of dental issue where the upper teeth are protruding. Unfortunately, if you have moderate to severe crowding, you wouldn’t be eligible for this study. If you decide to join, you can expect to receive one of the two treatment types and be monitored throughout the process to see how well it works. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more information available once it starts.
