ClinConnect Summary
The "Previvors Recharge" clinical trial is studying a program called PreCharge, which aims to help individuals who have a hereditary cancer syndrome but have not been diagnosed with cancer, known as "Previvors." These individuals face a high risk of developing cancer and often deal with anxiety about their health and the health of their family members. The PreCharge program is designed to provide support through text messaging, focusing on building resilience, fostering positive thinking, and encouraging strong social connections. The trial will recruit up to 150 participants who are over 18 years old, speak English, and have access to a mobile phone.
Participants in the study will complete an initial assessment to measure their resilience and then receive 30 days of support from the PreCharge program. At the end of this period, they will fill out another assessment to see how the program has helped them. The goal is to determine if participants find the program helpful and if it effectively improves their mental well-being. If you or someone you know is a Previvor and meets the eligibility criteria, this could be a valuable opportunity to gain support and improve resilience in the face of cancer risk.
