ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "PICSI Impact on Euploidy in Assisted Reproduction" is studying a specific method of sperm selection called Physiologic Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (PICSI) to see if it can improve outcomes for couples facing infertility. In this method, sperm are chosen based on their ability to bind to a substance called hyaluronic acid, which may indicate better quality sperm. The trial is particularly focused on couples where the woman is over 35 years old or the man is over 40, as these age factors can impact fertility. Eligible couples must be planning to use their own fresh eggs and sperm, and they need to have at least two mature eggs available for the procedure.
Participants in this study can expect to undergo the standard ICSI process, but with the added sperm selection technique of PICSI. This trial aims to find out if using PICSI leads to better fertilization rates, healthier embryos, and lower miscarriage rates compared to the usual ICSI method. It is important to know that this trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the age and other criteria, you may have the opportunity to join and contribute to this important research on assisted reproductive technologies.
