ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to find out which scoring system—Revised Trauma Score (RTS) or Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS)—is more effective at predicting the risk of death in patients who have suffered multiple injuries, known as polytrauma. The study will take place at Assiut University Hospital and aims to help doctors better understand how to assess the severity of injuries in patients who come to the emergency department.
To participate in this study, you must be over 18 years old and can be either male or female. Eligible participants are those who have experienced serious injuries, such as cuts or fractures, from accidents or violence. Unfortunately, pregnant women, those with less serious injuries, or those who have been moved to another hospital cannot take part. If you choose to participate, you will undergo assessments using the RTS and GCS scoring systems, and your progress will be monitored throughout the study. This research is important as it could improve how medical professionals predict outcomes for patients with severe trauma.
