ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new device designed to help people with hand spasticity, which means their hand muscles are tight and hard to control. The device gently moves the hands of patients to help reduce this tightness. The study will take place at Yale New Haven Hospital, where participants will use the device during a 20-minute session to see how it affects their hand muscle tone before and after treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between 65 and 74 years old and have difficulty moving their fingers due to conditions like paralysis or motor function issues, with a specific score on a muscle tightness scale. Unfortunately, younger individuals under 18, and those who cannot stretch their fingers and wrists properly, will not be eligible. This study is not currently recruiting participants, but it aims to understand how effective this device can be for improving hand movement in people with spasticity.
