ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a new way to position patients during a specific kidney surgery called retrograde intrarenal surgery, which is used to remove kidney stones. The researchers want to see if placing patients in a modified T-tilted position—where they are slightly tilted head-down and lying on their side—will help doctors remove stones more effectively compared to the traditional flat position. This new position aims to improve access to both the upper and lower parts of the kidney while keeping patients comfortable.

If you or a loved one is over 16 years old and has kidney stones up to 2.5 cm in size, you might be eligible to participate in this study. However, some people may not qualify, including those with certain previous surgeries, ongoing infections, or specific medical conditions that make it unsafe to be in the tilted position. Those who join the trial can expect to undergo the surgery while being monitored closely to see how well this new position works for removing kidney stones. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so there is an opportunity to contribute to important research that could improve kidney stone treatments in the future.
