ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of spinal anesthesia (SA) for infants under 3 months old who need lower abdominal surgery, such as for hernias or undescended testicles. Spinal anesthesia is an alternative to general anesthesia that may have fewer risks, like breathing problems or medication side effects. This trial at Ain Shams University Hospitals aims to evaluate how effective and safe spinal anesthesia is for these young patients and to understand any limitations it may have.
To be eligible for this trial, infants must be under 3 months of age and in generally good health. The trial is looking for babies who are scheduled for certain elective surgeries and whose parents or guardians agree to the procedure. However, infants with certain medical conditions, such as bleeding disorders or infections at the injection site, cannot participate. If your child is eligible and participates, they will receive spinal anesthesia during the surgery, and the team will closely monitor their safety and recovery.
