ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying two different methods of pain relief for women undergoing a surgery called modified radical mastectomy, which is often done to treat breast cancer. The researchers want to find out which method works better: one that targets a specific nerve in the chest (called a pectoral nerve block) or another that focuses on a different area in the back (called a midpoint transverse process block). Both methods are guided by ultrasound, which helps the doctors see where to place the pain relief medication.

To participate in the trial, women aged 35 to 65 who are scheduled for this type of surgery can sign up, as long as they don’t have certain medical conditions or allergies that would make the procedure unsafe. If you choose to join, you can expect to receive one of the two pain relief techniques after your surgery to help manage any discomfort. It’s important to note that this trial is currently looking for participants, and your involvement could help improve pain management for future patients undergoing similar procedures.
