ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a foot condition called hallux valgus, which is commonly known as a bunion. Researchers want to understand how the lengths of the first and second toes relate to this condition in two groups of older adults – those from Greece and Egypt. The study will include 150 participants aged 60 to 80 who have foot X-rays that can be measured. They will look at specific angles and lengths of the toes to see if there is a connection between these measurements and hallux valgus.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between 60 and 80 years old and have X-rays of their feet that can be used for the study. They should not have had any previous foot surgeries, but they may not join if they have a history of foot injuries, certain foot deformities, or diseases that affect their foot structure. Those who join the trial can expect to provide information about their foot health and have their toe lengths and angles measured. This research could help improve our understanding of hallux valgus and how it may differ among different populations.
