ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to find out if it is possible to conduct a larger study comparing two different ways to help patients with esophageal cancer who have a blockage: using a gastrostomy tube (commonly called a g-tube) or a stent. Both of these options aim to make it easier for patients to eat and improve their quality of life when surgery is not an option. The trial will also check for complications, whether patients need more treatments, and how many days they spend in the hospital over three months.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be 18 years or older and scheduled to receive either a stent or a g-tube to help with their eating difficulties caused by advanced gastroesophageal cancer. Unfortunately, those under 18 or who have already had a stent or g-tube placed before joining the trial cannot participate. The trial has not started recruiting participants yet, but it aims to gather important information that could help improve care for people facing this challenging condition.
