ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at different methods for a procedure called maxillary sinus floor elevation, which is often needed before dental implants in the upper jaw. The main goal is to see how the shape of the maxillary sinus (the space in the upper jaw) affects how much bone loss happens after the surgery. Researchers want to find out how to pick the best technique for each patient based on their unique sinus shape. To do this, they will take special 3D images of patients’ sinuses before surgery, right after, and then again six months later.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 65 and 74 years old and have a specific type of sinus surgery planned in the back of your upper jaw. You must also be having a dental implant placed at the same time and show that the implant has successfully integrated into the bone after six months. If you have had issues with your implant or decide not to join the study, you will not be eligible. The trial is not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to gather important information to help improve sinus elevation procedures for future patients.
