ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a special program designed to help people with schizophrenia improve their understanding of their condition and promote healthier lifestyle choices. The program, called a mindfulness-based psychoeducation program, aims to reduce feelings of internalized stigma—those negative beliefs patients might have about themselves due to their illness—and to encourage behaviors that support overall health, like exercise and good nutrition.
To participate in this study, individuals must be diagnosed with schizophrenia, registered at the Kastamonu Training and Research Community Mental Health Centre, and willing to attend the training sessions. The trial will include 40 participants, divided into two groups: one receiving the psychoeducation program and the other not. Over six weeks, the program will help participants learn coping skills and gain knowledge about living a healthier lifestyle. At the end of the training, participants will receive a guide to continue their education and support their progress. This research aims to see if the program can make a positive difference in the lives of those with schizophrenia.
