ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a specific type of rehabilitation, called Schroth-based therapy, can help improve motor functions and quality of life for adolescents with a condition known as Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS). The trial involves 30 young participants, including 15 healthy individuals and 15 with AIS, aged 8 to 16 years. Researchers will use special technology to monitor brain activity and body movements before and after the rehabilitation to see how the treatment affects both physical abilities and overall well-being.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 8 and 20 years old and have been diagnosed with AIS. They must also be willing to take part voluntarily. However, those with certain health issues, previous surgeries related to their spine or legs, or who are currently undergoing other treatments for scoliosis won't be able to participate. Throughout the trial, participants can expect to take part in various physical tests and have their brain activity monitored, which will help researchers understand the effectiveness of this rehabilitation approach for young people with scoliosis.
