ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how telehealth counseling after day surgery can help older patients recover better and take care of themselves. Telehealth means having conversations with healthcare providers over the phone or online, which can make it easier for patients to get support at home. The researchers want to see if those who receive this counseling do better in their recovery compared to those who do not receive any counseling after their surgery.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be 65 years or older and have recently undergone certain types of day surgeries, like appendix removal or hernia repair. They should be able to communicate well by phone and not have serious vision, hearing, or mental health issues. Participants will volunteer for the study and can expect regular phone check-ins after their surgery to help guide their recovery and self-care. It’s important to note that the study is not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to help improve care for older patients undergoing surgery in the future.
