ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to fix fractures in the jaw (specifically, the area called the mandible) that occur in a certain spot known as the parasymphysis. The study aims to compare two treatments: one involves using a single plate with an arch bar, while the other uses two plates. Researchers want to see which method leads to better outcomes after surgery, focusing on things like the risk of infection, any numbness or tingling (called paresthesia), how well the jaw aligns, and how long the surgery takes.

To participate in this trial, patients must have a specific type of jaw fracture called a unilateral parasymphysis fracture. However, those with certain conditions, such as complex fractures, medical issues that could complicate surgery, or other jaw fractures, will not be included. The study is currently active but not recruiting new participants. If you or someone you know is eligible, this research could contribute to better treatment options for jaw fractures in the future.
