ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating the effects of vitamin D and calcium on women who have gestational diabetes, a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. The goal is to see if taking these supplements can help manage blood sugar levels and improve cholesterol profiles, which are important for both the mother’s and baby’s health. The study will measure key indicators like fasting blood sugar and cholesterol levels to understand how these supplements might influence pregnancy outcomes.

To participate in this trial, women aged 18 to 40 who are between 24 and 28 weeks pregnant and have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes are eligible. Participants will need to provide written consent and should not have any pre-existing diabetes or other serious health issues. Throughout the study, participants can expect to receive careful monitoring and support while contributing to important research that could benefit future mothers and their babies.
