ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective cochlear implants are for people with severe to profound hearing loss. Researchers want to understand the benefits of these devices, as well as any potential complications that might occur, like problems during surgery or issues with the device itself. The study aims to help improve the experience of those who receive cochlear implants and to identify what can go wrong.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between 1 and 65 years old and have a specific type of hearing loss called bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, which means both ears are affected and the issue is related to the inner ear or auditory nerve. Participants should also be using their cochlear implant regularly as recommended. However, people with certain other types of hearing loss or significant mental or cognitive challenges will not be eligible. Since the trial is not yet recruiting, it’s a good time to learn more about cochlear implants and think about whether this could be a helpful option for you or your loved one in the future.
