ClinConnect Summary
The EUmetriosis project is a clinical trial focused on understanding endometriosis, a painful condition that affects women. The aim is to improve how this condition is diagnosed and managed. Researchers want to learn more about the immune cells and substances they release in women with endometriosis. This study is important because it seeks to address key challenges faced by those living with the condition, including finding better treatment options and raising awareness about endometriosis. By doing this, the project hopes to make life easier and improve care for women with this condition.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be women aged between 18 and 50 who have been diagnosed with endometriosis and are planning to have surgery. They should be pre-menopausal and experience regular menstrual cycles. Participants will be asked to collect some menstrual fluid (effluent) for testing and will need to provide consent to join the study. It’s important to note that women who are post-menopausal, pregnant, or have certain other health conditions will not be eligible. This trial is yet to start recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights that could lead to better management of endometriosis in the future.
