ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to surgically treat fractures in the lower jaw, known as mandibular fractures. The study will involve 20 patients with a specific type of fracture (Class III) and will compare two methods: one group will receive a special Z-shaped mini-plate with an extension on the tongue side of the jaw, while the other group will have two conventional mini-plates placed at the top and bottom of the jaw. This research aims to see which method is more effective for healing.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be over 21 years old, have a Class III mandibular fracture, and be in good overall health without any conditions that could interfere with bone healing. Patients with other facial injuries or those who are unable to commit to follow-up visits won't be included. Before participating, all patients will be fully informed about the study procedures, benefits, and potential risks, and they will need to give their consent. At this stage, the trial is not yet recruiting participants.
