ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new method for treating fractures in the lower jaw, specifically at a part called the parasymphyseal area. Researchers will use a special type of 3D imaging called a cone beam CT scan to create detailed pictures of the fracture. These images will be analyzed using computer software to see how different types of plates, which are used to hold the bone together, perform in terms of strength and durability. The goal is to figure out which plate design is the most effective for healing these types of fractures.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to have a specific type of fracture in the parasymphyseal area of the jaw without any other facial injuries or fractures in the back part of the jaw. The trial is open to all genders and is looking for individuals aged 70 and older. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to contribute to important research that may improve future treatments for jaw fractures.
