ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different mental tasks can affect the ability of older adults to perform tasks that require manual dexterity, which is the skill of using your hands effectively. As people age, they may find it harder to do everyday activities like buttoning a shirt or using utensils. This study will look at how well older adults, aged 65 to 84, can perform these tasks while also thinking about something else, like remembering a list or focusing on a problem. Researchers want to understand how mental tasks impact physical abilities and if this effect differs between younger seniors (65-74) and older seniors (75-84).
To participate in this study, you need to be between 65 and 84 years old, able to cooperate with the tasks, and have no significant vision or hearing issues. Participants will be asked to complete various cognitive tasks while their manual dexterity is tested. The findings could help improve daily living for older adults by understanding the link between thinking and physical skills. This research is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to apply.
