ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of melatonin patches on sleep quality in patients who are undergoing urological surgery. After surgery, many patients struggle to sleep well due to various reasons, such as being in a hospital, experiencing pain and stress, and changes in their body’s natural sleep patterns. Melatonin is a hormone that helps regulate sleep, and the study aims to see if using a skin patch that provides a steady level of melatonin can help improve sleep for these patients.

To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between 18 and 70 years old and have planned urological surgery. They must also be in stable health, meaning their vital signs are normal. However, patients who are using other sleep medications, have certain mental health issues, or have problems with hearing or speaking cannot take part. Those who join the study can expect to use the melatonin patch during their recovery and will help researchers understand if this treatment can improve their sleep after surgery.
